NTF, NAMI Comment on House Ag Labor Bill
The National Turkey Federation (NTF) and the North American Meat Institute (NAMI) released a statement today following the introduction of the Farm Workforce Modernization Act in the U.S. House of Representatives, which makes reforms to agricultural guestworker policy:
“Labor availability is one of the biggest issues affecting agriculture as a whole, and nowhere is this challenge more acute than in meat and poultry packing and processing. Introduction of the Farm Workforce Modernization Act is a step forward in the effort to address agriculture’s labor challenges. As this legislation is considered in Congress, we look forward to working with lawmakers to find a solution that would allow meat and poultry processors to utilize a viable agricultural guestworker program.”
