3 lbs GROUND TURKEY
1/3 c onion, finely chopped
4 Cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
2 c Cheddar cheese, shredded
1 c button mushrooms, sliced
12 Slices TURKEY BACON SLICES, crisply cooked & crumbled
2 green onion, finely chopped
1/2 c mayonnaise
12 Medium hamburger buns, split and toasted
Gently combine ground turkey, onion, garlic and pepper. Mix well. Shape into 12 4-ounce patties. Cover and hold for service.
Combine cheese, mushrooms, bacon, green onion and mayonnaise, mix well.
Grill or broil burgers 4 to 6 inches from heat on medium temperature grill. Cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning only once. Cook to an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.
During the last 3 to 4 minutes of grill time, place ¼ cup cheese topping on each burger. Continue cooking until cheese melts.
Serve in split toasted bun.
