Clyde’s Saloon Turkey Burger

Ingredients

1 tbsp vegetable oil

1/3 c onion, finely minced

1 tsp minced fresh garlic

1 apple, peeled and chopped fine

2 tsp fresh sage, chopped

1 lb GROUND TURKEY

1 c cooked brown rice

1 tbsp ketchup

1/3 c rolled oats

1 tsp black pepper

4 Multi-grain buns, split and heated

Directions

Heat oil in a large skillet. Add and sauté onions, garlic, apples and sage together in the oil until they are soft. Cover and refrigerate until cool.

Combine onion/apple mixture with the remaining ingredients. Gently but thoroughly, mix ingredients together.

Form the mix into 4 equal-sized patties.

Broil, bake, grill or sauté the burgers until they reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees F and the turkey is no longer pink on the inside.

Serve on heated buns with selection of accompaniments.
