Mother’s Cranberry Sauce


3/4 c cold water

1/4 c orange juice

1 c white sugar

3 c fresh or frozen cranberries

3/4 tsp freshly grated orange zest



In a medium saucepan, boil water, juice and sugar over medium heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved.

Add cranberries and simmer, stirring occasionally, until berries just pop, about 10-12 minutes. Stir in orange zest.

Cool, cover and store in refrigerator for up to 3 days.
