1 lb TURKEY HAM, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1/2 c flour
1-1/2 tsp curry powder
4 c cooking apples, unpeeled, cored and cut into 1/2-inch slices
2 tbsp lemon juice
1/4 c chopped walnuts
1/2 c oatmeal
1/4 c each brown sugar and margarine
1/2 c shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
In 9-inch square baking pan, scatter turkey ham cubes.
In small bowl, combine flour and curry powder. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of mixture over turkey ham cubes, tossing to coat.
In medium bowl, combine apples and lemon juice. Scatter apple slices over turkey ham cubes.
Mix walnuts, oatmeal and brown sugar with remaining curry powder mixture. Cut in margarine until mixture is crumbly. Top apples with oatmeal mixture and cheese.
Bake at 375 degrees F. 35 to 40 minutes, until apples are tender and topping is crisp and golden.
*To make in advance, preapre turkey/apple mixture; cover and refrigerate. Prepare crumb topping and refrigerate separately. In the morning, sprinkle topping and cheese over appple/turkey mixture and bake. Cooking tip: Buy a full turkey ham, or have 1/2-inch slices cut at the deli counter.
