Turkey Kebabs with Lemon Sauce



1/3 c olive oil

1/3 c dry white wine

1 tbsp fresh basil, chopped

3 Cloves garlic, minced

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp crushed red pepper

1-1/2 lbs TURKEY TENDERLOINS, cut in 1-inch pieces

12 bamboo skewers

1 c bread crumbs

1 c grated Romano cheese

1/4 c unsalted butter

2 tbsp fresh lemon juice

1 lemon, cut into wedges

Fresh basil As needed



In a shallow glass dish, blend the first 7 marinade ingredients. Add turkey cubes and toss to coat evenly. Cover, refrigerate and marinate 30 minutes or up to 2 hours.

Soak skewers in water for 30 minutes.

Remove turkey from marinade and discard marinade.

Blend breadcrumbs and Romano cheese in a shallow dish. Add turkey cubes to cheese mixture and toss until evenly coated.

Thread turkey cubes on skewers.

Broil or grill over medium heat 4 inches from the heat source for about 8-10 minutes, turning frequently.

Meanwhile, melt butter over low heat and stir in lemon juice.

Arrange kebabs on platter and drizzle with butter mixture. Garnish with lemon slices and fresh basil.
