1 Loaf (1 lb) round uncut rye or pumpernickel bread
3/4 lb TURKEY PASTRAMI slices, thinly sliced
8 Slices Swiss cheese, about 1 oz each
3 c cabbage, shredded and patted dry
1 c sweet onion, thinly sliced
3/4 c reduced-calorie Thousand Island dressing
8 Wooden picks (4 to 5-inches long)
Cut bread into 4 lengthwise layers.
Divide and layer ingredients equally over each slice of bread.
Stack layers on top of each other. Firmly press down loaf to compress ingredients. Wrap loaf tightly in plastic wrap. Refrigerate 1 hour.
To serve, skewer loaf with wooden picks, evenly spaced, to hold sandwich together while slicing.
