Nothing brings back childhood memories like a good Sloppy Joe! Ground turkey is the base for this delicious, comforting sandwich. Plus, it’s a quick and easy meal to bring everyone to the table. Don’t forget the extra napkins!
1 lb ground turkey
1 c onion, thinly sliced
1/2 c green pepper, chopped
1 c ketchup
1/4 c sweet pickle relish
1-1/2 tsp chili powder
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp seasoned salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp celery seeds
8 sandwich buns, split
In large skillet, over medium-high heat, saute ground turkey, onion and pepper for five minutes or until turkey is no longer pink. Add ketchup, relish, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, garlic powder and celery seed. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 30 minutes.
Toast the opened buns under broiler 1 to 2 minutes or until lightly browned. To serve, evenly divide and spoon turkey mixture over one half of each bun. Top with other half.
