Turkey Steak Italiano Sandwich

20 Each (5 lbs total) TURKEY STEAKS, 4 oz each, thawed

1/2 c Italian dressing

4 qt sweet onions, sliced thin

20 Each hard Italian rolls or Kaiser rolls, split

As Needed olive oil

10 Cloves garlic, pureed

2-1/2 tsp basil, dried, crumbled

2-1/2 tsp oregano, dried, crumbled

3-3/4 c prepared spaghetti or pizza sauce, warm

40 oz Mozzarella cheese, sliced thin


Brush thawed turkey steaks with Italian dressing. Grill turkey steaks 3 to 3-1/2 minutes per side to an internal temperature of 165 degrees F. Keep warm.

Grill onions until lightly browned. Keep warm.

Brush both cut sides of roll with olive oil, rub with garlic puree, and sprinkle with basil and oregano. Grill until warm and toasted.

Place turkey steaks on bottom half of roll. Add grilled onions and sauce. Top with 2 ounces sliced Mozzarella. Broil bottom half of sandwich to melt cheese.

Add top half of roll and cut in half, on the diagonal. Serve warm.
