Through Turkey Smoke events, NTF is showing everyone how turkey naturally fits into barbecue competitions, no matter how you slice it. Our goal with building Turkey Smoke and taking it nationwide is to increase demand for NTF members’ products by creating a new market and introducing potential customers and barbecue enthusiasts to this protein option. From the teams competing to the lucky passersby sampling, we have heard great feedback on the potential for turkey in barbecue. It’s safe to say we’re hungry for more!
To inspire pitmasters to try turkey this smoking and grilling season, NTF is partnering with the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) to launch the inaugural Turkey Smoke Series. The Turkey Smoke Series will incorporate a turkey category into numerous KCBS-sanctioned barbecue contests during the 2020 barbecue season. Turkey’s versatility shines in outdoor cooking, and since Turkey Smoke’s nationwide debut in 2019 we have already seen pitmasters turning out some incredibly creative, mouthwatering dishes. As we like to say, where there’s smoke, there’s turkey – so, be on the lookout for a Turkey Smoke near you.
We’re back with an exciting schedule of Turkey Smoke events this year, including our fourth visit to the American Royal World Series of BBQ!
