NTFF 2026 Priorities and Ongoing Initiatives



The National Turkey Federation Foundation is dedicated to the growth, progress, and welfare of the turkey industry and all of its individual and corporate interests. Through its Comprehensive Research Program Competition, NTFF solicits proposals that address priority industry challenges identified by its Board of Directors and research committee.

Proposed research projects should be designed to provide information that has the potential to resolve real industry problems.

The three current projects that the NTF Foundation is soliciting proposals for are below. Please click into each of them to read the RFPs:

Systematic Review to Develop Strategic Roadmap for Vaccine Development Against Ornithobacterium rhinotracheale (ORT) in Turkeys

ORT RFP Issue Date: July 9, 2026 | ORT Proposal Due Date: October 1, 2026

Purpose: The purpose of this RFP is to solicit proposals from qualified research organizations, academic institutions, or consortia to:

1. Conduct a systematic review of all available global research on ORT in turkeys

2. Identify knowledge gaps and research priorities so a strategic roadmap for vaccine development and implementation can be create

Economic and Broader Burden of Disease in the U.S. Turkey Industry

Economic Burden RFP Issue Date: July 9, 2026 | Economic Burden Proposal Due Date: October 1, 2026

Purpose: To support an analysis that characterizes the multi-dimensional burden of disease in the U.S. turkey industry and generates insights that can inform evidence-based decision-making and policy development related to animal health interventions.

NTFF Reovirus Project

The Reovirus Project is ongoing and remains open to submissions.

Purpose: To provide a significant reward for the development and successful marketing of a diagnostic tool and/or vaccine that aids in reducing the impact of reovirus on the turkey industry. The NTF Foundation will award funds for a successful vaccine and a successful diagnostic tool.


ALL PROPOSALS SHOULD BE SUBMITTED TO RESEARCH@TURKEYFED.ORG IN PDF FORMAT AS ONE COMPLETE DOCUMENT.

Each RFP includes the required information needed to submit a proposal. Cover letters, article reprints, letters of support and any other supporting materials should be included as part of the complete PDF submission.
