1 lb GROUND TURKEY
1 Large egg, slightly beaten
2 tsp barbecue spice
1/2 c soft bread crumbs
1 tbsp chopped sweet onion
4 Slices Cheddar cheese
Barbecue sauce As needed
4 sandwich buns, split and warmed
Combine ground turkey, egg, barbecue spice, bread crumbs and onion in a large bowl. Gently mix thoroughly and shape into 8 uniform patties.
Place cheese between 2 patties and squeeze the edges to form a good seal.
Place burgers on an oiled grill and baste with barbecue sauce. Grill over medium heat for 4-6 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F and the burgers are no longer pink in the center.
Serve each burger in a heated bun.
