About this Dish

This dish brings the comfort food of the Midwest straight to your plate. Ground turkey is the base for these hearty, delicious Minnesota Nachos that are topped with tater tots baked to crispy perfection. Pile them high with your favorite toppings (the more cheese the better!) and settle in for movie night! Submitted by the Minnesota Turkey Growers Association.

Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

½ tsp salt

½ tsp pepper

1/8 c onions

1 tbsp flour

½ c beef broth

1/4 c milk

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

16 oz tater tots

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. On the stove top, brown ground turkey and add salt, pepper and onions. After browned, whisk in flour. Then add beef broth, milk and Worcestershire sauce. Cook 2-3 minutes until thickened.


Evenly spread the ground turkey on the bottom of an 8 x 8 baking dish and top off with the tater tots. Bake for 45 minutes.


Scoop a serving on a plate and add your favorite toppings, such as warm queso, cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes, sour cream, onions, jalapenos, olives, green onions or turkey bacon bits.
