2-1/4 c all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp salt

1 tbsp baking powder

1/2 tsp dried oregano

1/2 tsp dried basil

1/3 c vegetable shortening

2/3 c milk

1/4 c spicy brown mustard, divided

2 Packages (1-1/2 lbs) TURKEY BREAKFAST SAUSAGE, casings removed and crumbled


Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Mix flour, salt, baking powder, herbs, shortening and milk as for biscuits. Divide dough in half.

On a lightly floured surface, roll each piece 1/4-inch thick. Spread evenly with mustard.

Spread crumbled turkey sausage evenly over each piece of dough. Beginning at one end, roll dough up to enclose filling, jelly-roll style.

Slice 1/4-inch thick and bake on a lightly greased baking sheet.

Bake for 35 minutes or until golden brown.

Makes about 6 dozen appetizers. Serve 3 per portion.
